Hi Martin,
I hope you had a good weekend relaxing. It was great chatting with you on Friday.
You have put a lot of hard work into where you are at right now.
I know this picture is difficult to read. I thought it would be easier for you to read my notes below, but refer to the picture above if need be.
We talked about many things. I will (inadequately) try to explain my diagram. This is why pictures speak a thousand words!
Your Core Leadership Traits:
These I listed as:
- High reflection
- Openness and willing to try
- Look to core issues
- Strong people insight
- You deal with conflict (..... don't let it go)
- Integrity
Through embracing your difficulties you've now managed to refine these core leadership traits. We see them working for you as the momentum builds:
Building Trust
- Giving responsibilities (let them drive their core beliefs)
- Appreciating (point how they fit into the bigger picture)
- Thanked them (grateful leadership... which is one of the most successful)
---- Enables me to breakaway
--------Your leadership style spreads:
Conflict

- We're proud of what we do
Conflict
- I noted when we first spoke, you tend to handle conflict well, you never tried to veer away from it. You gave me many examples of where you'd even take it on behalf of your team if there was an angry home-owner. However, during our last discussion, it appeared you were more comfortable dealing with conflict: not absorbing it, but dealing with it. This naturally let the energy associated with it deflect off you.
- We talked about the first tell-tale signs of when the pressure is not working for you. This was where you noted anger started to seep in as you felt a tinge of loss of control...Anger = loss of control "I haven't had control so I got angry"
- The top two drawings refer to this. Where before your strong people insight lead you to understand and absorb the energy of others, now you're able to still seek and understand others, but not absorb their difficulties. As we discussed you're thriving because you're now accepting of your own abilities as "good enough". This hold on you, now released means there is no longer a need for you to control everything. As you stated, "this enables me to breakaway" to do other things and allow my team to make their own achievements, which we can then all be proud of.
Timeline
There is also a timeline element of this drawing which I'm happy to talk you through.
We discussed next steps. First I wanted you to enjoy your new found freedom :-)
You also agreed to send me through any reading lists or actual readings from your course so I don't double up on anything. When you're ready I'd love to send through some readings.
Also, if you want to use this as a bit of a diary, it is really good for having second insights/reflections. Some people use it daily or just when things occur to them. You'll notice the patterns that come through allow for interesting findings.
Again, Congratulations. I was immensely happy with your work when we last spoke. Now its a case of every drop counts - as in every ounce of energy goes towards building your great space. You've worked hard to get here!!
Thanks,
Celine
